Romance of the Lute
Reports of string players, who, with their magical art, could transform persons into a „soon happy, soon sad or soon inebriated state“, are traceable back to the distant past. Quiet music could lead its listeners into unusual spheres, bring forth extraordinary emotions and exercise a healing and balancing effect on body and soul. Also lovers used the seductive powers of the Lute and applied these to matters of chivalry.
In the tender, modest and secretive sounds of the king of instruments one discovers the magic of quietness. This fascination secured for the Lute a special place in musical life for many centuries.
The program leads us unto a fantastic world of music full of contrast and opens a door to endless and extraordinary experiences to the listener.
